The 12th Round Table Meeting (12th RTM) for Bhutan and its development partners is scheduled to be held in Thimphu from 11-12 December 2013. Delegations from over more than 60 partner organizations, including bilateral donors and international organizations will be present at the event.
The RTM will be an opportunity for the Royal Government of Bhutan to present the 11th FYP to ensure better alignment of development assistance with the national priorities for improved aid-effectiveness.
The two day meeting will include presentations and discussions on the 11 FYP challenges and priorities, macro-fiscal outlook and economic development roadmap.
The first RTM for Bhutan was held in the early 1980s. Customarily, Round Table Meetings for Bhutan are held twice in the course of a five-year plan, at the beginning and middle of the plan. The previous RTM took place in Thimphu from 1-2 September 2011.
The Round Table is organised by the Royal Government of Bhutan in partnership with the United Nations and will be co-chaired by Lyonpo Rinzin Dorje, Minister of Foreign Affairs, RGoB, and Mr. Haoliang Xu, UN Assistant Secretary-General, UNDP Assistant Administrator and Regional Director, Asia and the Pacific.
