4th Country Program Board (CPB) Meeting

The 4th Country Program Board (CPB) Meeting convened, ahead of the UN AWP (2022-2023)

Under the chair of Secretary- GNHCS, the fourth CPB for the UN Annual Work Plan (AWP) was conducted on 18.02.2022 through a hybrid mode, limiting in-person attendance in adherence to COVID-19 protocols. The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Gerald Daly (UN Resident Coordinator) and was attended by chairs, co-chairs and co-facilitators of 4 outcome groups from the Royal Government of Bhutan and the UN Agencies. 

 The meeting being the last CPB, co-chaired by Mr. Daly, had its share of acknowledgement offered for his leadership of excellence in assembling 31 UN agencies under his coordination. Mr. Daly’s tenure as the UNRC witnessed astounding milestones such as the conferment of Druk Thuksey Institutional Award to UN and 50 Years of UN in Bhutan. 

The meeting discussed the End-Year Review of UN AWP for the year 2021-2022 with concentration on progress, bottlenecks and stock-take of best practices. 

The CPB also tabled the progress of the indicators under the UN Sustainable Development Partnership Framework (2018- 2023). The draft AWP (2022-2023) comprising 169 activities, 43 implementing partners and 9 UN agencies was presented. The CPB briefly introduced the formulation processes  of UNSDCF (2024-2028).

The CPB as an annual event housed between UN agencies and RGoB is the prime discussion platform to review the End-Year Report and dispense directorial advice for the development of the new UN AWP.
