Project Signing

 

 

The Gross National Happiness Commission and the Asian Forest Cooperation Organization (AFoCO), signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the project ‘Sustainable Community-Based Enterprises for Improved Livelihood’.  The signing ceremony was carried out in presence of Implementing Partner (IP), Department of Forest and Park Services, Ministry of Agriculture and Forests.

With the signing of this MoU, the AFoCO commits an amount of USD $ 1,000,000.00 to the Royal Government of Bhutan over the next four years. 

The project is to promote Community Forest and NWFP industries by establishing community-based enterprises, develop alternative income sources for rural communities and enhance knowledge and technology on climate change adaptation through sustainable forest management.
