Royal Government of Bhutan and Government of Japan represented by JICA Bhutan Office signed Grant Aid Agreement on ‘The Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS)’

Upon signing the Exchange of Note for the “Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship” between Mr. SUZUKI Satoshi, Ambassador of Japan to Bhutan, and H.E. Maj. Gen. Vetsop Namgyel, Ambassador of Bhutan to Japan, the Secretary of the GNH Commission, Mr. Thinley Namgyel and Chief Representative of JICA Bhutan Office, Mr.Kozo Watanabe, signed the Grant Aid Agreement for ‘The project for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS)’ of approximately amounting to  (JPY174,000,000.00) Nu. 110,000,000 (One Hundred Ten Million only) on 7th June 2021.

Japan Development Scholarship is to develop human resources in various fields for the development of Bhutan. The scholarship will give opportunity to public servants to take up Masters and Doctoral programme in Japanese Universities.  The Royal Civil Service Commission is implementing the project.
